I have been creating jewelry for more than 30 years, since I discovered and fell in love with sterling silver.I was working as a photojournalist, having taught myself photography in college.  This carried me across north america, then europe, and eventually to the middle east.

In Jerusalem I began making simple silver pieces and selling them outside one of the spectacular gates to the old city.

Since then I have continued to learn other aspects of silversmithing, from forging to casting.

My early training as a photographer has been an invaluable aid in composition, balance, color and attention to detail.  Carefully chosen gemstones and cultured pearls have become signature elements in my work,  and I am continually seeking new materials  to work with, such as shards of antique chinese porcelain, cut woods, coral, and old coins from around the world.

My designs are predominantly classical.  I find ideas and inspiration in books of jewelry design from as far back  as 7000 years. An annual journey to Asia  gives me a very unique selection of materials to work with…faceted gems from Thailand, cultured pearls from the incredible pearl market in Bangkok, fossilized corals , woods and ammonites from Indonesia, lustrous moonstones from Madagascar, and coins from many countries that I pass through, most recently, India.  It is a wonderful and fruitful trip. I photograph the unique materials that I find and then post to my Facebook jewelry page so that I can share my finds and my excitement .
